Birthday fun!

I had my 21st birthday on June 21st. Happy golden birthday to me:) I had a great fun filled day which my husband started off for me. He gave me beautiful flowers and made me my favorite breakfast, crepes with strawberries and rasberries, for me before I headed off to work.

They were my favorite flowers, gerbera daisies.
After work we headed up to Payson Lakes to spend two nights camping with Casey's family. We have a new camping tradition to go every summer as a family. April my mother in law made cupcakes and icecream for my birthday and had candles for me to blow out.
Here's a picture of my cupcakes and my adorable nieces
My birthay got to continue all the way till Saturday (or at least I claimed this day as for my birthday). We went boating with my family right after we got back to camping. Boating is usually what I ask to do on my birthday and this year I still got to a couple days after. I love boating! We had so much fun out on our new tubes. My dad got two of them that each have four seats so we have lots of people out tubing at once. We had some crazy waves that day and were bouncing pretty high. Luckily no injuries except for sore stomachs from laughing so much and sore arms on Casey and probably Rhonda for riding on the back seats.

The crazy day continued. As soon as we got home from boating we cleaned the house, and got it ready for a barbecue with mine and Casey's families. Everyone helped out lots with getting the backyard ready and with food. We had a great bbq and played volleyball. I had thought about dividing the teams into Ricks vs. Lunds but it's a good thing we decided to mix cause I don't think us Rick's would have done very well against the Lund's who are great at volleyball:). I'm sad I didn't even think about getting pictures of everyone together until after they had left but I got a picture blowing out my candles on the great cake my mom made for me. Oh wait she made two great cakes for me. She's the best!

The candles didn't stay lit for very long because of the wind, there were probably only 5 lit when I went to blow them out and I couldn't even get all those out.
I loved my birthday! My family is just the best there is.

Monster hat

Here are some hats I made a little while ago for my great friend Leanna! She is having a baby any day now and it is her first baby boy. Even though it isn't cold out....newborn pictures are so adorable with a cute hat and I made one big enough for him to grow into for the winter.
I followed this pattern for the monster hat

And for this hat I followed Allie's pattern but added a few things to it.

I'd love to start selling my own hats but I don't know how to create my own pattern! hopefully someday I will be able to make my own and start an etsy shop. If anyone has some pointers on how to do that, let me know:)

Cruise to Mexico

Casey and I took a seven day cruise last week for our first big vacation by ourselves. It was a week to remember! We took a carnival cruise that had one day at sea, two days in Cabo San Lucas, one day in Peurto Vallarta and another two days at sea. It seemed we spent most of the time on the boat which was lots of fun but we went on this trip to go to Mexico and it didn't seem like we got much time there. Here are some pictures and caption describing our trip!
We got to the airport around 6 am Sunday morning (May 27th) and had two flights that day, one to Arizona and the next to Long Beach California.

After waiting in lines for two hours to get our room keys, we then proceeded through many many security lines and when we got onto the ship everyone was sent to eat lunch before we could enter our rooms. So we waited through a long line again with our carry on bags in tow. We went to the top of the ship to wave goodbye when our boat set off. It was a bit windy and not the warmest in Cali.
Tuesday was a full day of just hanging out on the ship. We got random parts of our bodies fried from laying out for only about an hour. Casey had some weird stripes on his legs from spots that I missed with our spray sunscreen. Our first elegant night was this night which was pretty fun to get dressed up for. Our second elegant night that was on friday we just ditched out on. We didn't feel like getting ready and just went to the open 24 hour pizza buffet instead of the nice dining room.

One of Casey's favorite places in the whole ship was the sports bar. We watched a few Miami vs. Boston games in here where we met a couple of friends that were cousins, one from Utah, one from Pheonix, and we had to sit and watch a group of drunks with girls throwing themselves at the guys saying they could beat the boys in basketball any day. One of the girls even smashed a glass when Miami scored against Boston (which lets face it I bet she really didn't even care about who was winning the game.)
Ok I'll admit it. I waisted a dollar on the slots just cause I was old enough to gamble on a cruise ship.

Our first day in Cabo we had a snorkling excursion planned. We were on a raft like boat that took us and a small group of people out on a tour of lover's beach, and then to two spots where they let us out to snorkel.
Arch at Lover's Beach
There was a sea lion colony and this one was so funny he had somehow climbed to the top of this rock and sat perched with his head held high just waiting for us all to snap his picture.

The second place we snorkled at.
We used our underwater camera mostly while snorkeling so we don't have pics yet of those adventures. Coming soon!

You can't really see what this picture is but I put it up to tell the story and to show off Casey's funny burn lines. The guides at the beginning told us there would be jellyfish in the areas that we were snorkeling but not to worry they were only little tiny ones and there weren't very many of them. Just about every single one of the people in our group ended up getting stung, even multiple times. I had a few little stings and one pretty bad one on my hand. Casey the entire time didn't feel anything so I'm sure he didn't believe that I was getting stung. We heard lots of screams when people would get stung ha. As Casey was climbing the latter to get into the boat after our second snorkeling spot a jellyfish attacked his leg and he got the worst stung out of anybody on the boat. It had multiple bumps that swelled up immediately. The tour guide dumped vinegar on it (no we did not pee on it) and that helped it a lot. It wasn't too dramatic but now we can both say we have been stung by jellyfish! We were glad they weren't the big ones, the little ones hurt bad enough.

We headed over to a beach with restaurants to eat. We at at the Office with these two men serenading us while we ate. Food was delicious!

That ended our first day in Cabo
Our second day in Cabo I woke up sick. Well I had been feeling it the night before at dinner time but when I woke up I was so drained and stuffy with a cold. I still wanted to have a good time though and didn't want to ruin it for Casey. We walked around, went to some shops, bought a frisbee, and just enjoyed the streets of Cabo. We got a water taxi to take us out to Cabo to play there for the rest of the day. We started off playing in the waves of the "divorced beach" which was the other side of lover's beach where the waves were huge and rough and they advised people not to play in them. Of course that didn't stop Casey.

I was a little bit more nervous about playing in the waves. Casey got taken out a couple of times pretty badly and hey, I didn't feel very good cause of my cold.

That night at a dance party they were looking for some boy volunteers and I gladly volunteered Casey without knowing what they were going to do. He ended up being in a booty shaking contest.

The next day was our most favorite of the whole trip. We were in Peurto Vallarta and we did an excusion that was a 45 min. boat ride out to a private beach resort. It was so beautiful and tropical there! We each got to hold some parots, kiss that parot, hold a monkey, and a python. They fed us a great lunch then we went snorkeling which turned into an hour and fifteen minute trip which didn't even seen close to that long, it was awesome! Our guide brought up sea cucumbers, erchants, a puffer fish, and an octupus that Casey held! It suctioned pretty hard to his hand and nobody else wanted to hold it after we saw how hard it was to get off. The guide was moving it around in his hand and it squirt out ink into a girls face. He exclaimed, "You are the winner!" it was pretty funny, not so much to the girl though.

Las Calletas

This was my tiny bit of a freak out moment when the snake started wrapping its head around towards my body and the loop around my neck started getting smaller!
Coconut water is not very good. The coconut after we drank the water was good though
relaxing on the hammocks they had everywhere
These guys were hilarious! The one second on the right was the cruise director and they all put on a comedic show with lots of lip singing. It was so incredibly funny and made the 45 min. trip go by reallly fast.

The last two days were spend just hanging out on the cruise ship. We ate lots of food, played lots of card games, enjoyed all the shows put on by the crew, and didn't get much sun because those two days at sea were overcast and windy. On the very last night we finally got my much wanted virgin pina colada. They were delicious! We loved our vacation, it went way too fast but the last night was pretty rocky and we were kind of excited to be getting off of the ship the next day. Next time we will just have to go spend a week in Mexico.
